Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) is a Class A (Class 1) flame-spread composite of Portland cement, sand, aggregate, and alkali-resistant glass fiber, hand lay-up cast to a nominal 5/8" (16 mm) shell with perimeter edges thickened to about 1" (25 mm). At 7–9 lb/ft² it delivers the appearance and surface detail of precast concrete at a fraction of its 80–120 lb/ft² weight — reducing foundation load, structural framing, crane time, and schedule risk. Wilson Composites specifies GFRC under CSI Section 03 49 00.
Typical applications: exterior veneers, facade and cladding panels, cornices, column covers, trim, and larger formed architectural elements.
