What is FRP?

Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) is a molded composite of fiberglass reinforcement and resin, finished with a gelcoat or paint-ready surface. At roughly 1.75–2.25 lb/ft² and a nominal 3/16" wall, it reproduces the profile and detail of cast stone or architectural millwork at a fraction of the weight, with a Class A flame-spread rating and high flexural strength (≈32,100 psi). Wilson Composites fabricates FRP components to exact architect drawings and specifies them under CSI Section 06 82 00.

Typical applications: cornices, column covers, pediments, brackets, capitals, domes, spires, balustrades, window surrounds, signage, and custom three-dimensional forms — including replication of original profiles for historic restoration.
